Director of the Val di Sole Tourist Board

Travel and tourism are part of my DNA. In 2003, during a bus transfer from Dublin to Galway for the start of my study abroad period on an Erasmus grant, I thought for the first time that I wanted to work in this industry. The family business, a travel agency and tour operator in Genoa, was the first training ground. In 2006 I moved to Trento for the Master of Tourism Management, the real turning point for my education. With the master's degree and thanks to the community and the people I met, I began a path that allowed me to affend the challenges related to the development of a tourist destination and the issues of destination management.

In my early years at the University of Trento, I worked on territorial marketing projects with an applied research approach, while in 2011 I held my first management position as Destination Manager in Valle del Chiese (Trentino) for three years; in 2014 I took charge of the newly established DMO in Budoni (Sardinia) and returned to Trentino in 2016 to become Director of the Azienda per il Turismo della Val di Sole.

Since 2018, I have also held the role of President of the Consorzio Skirama Dolomiti Adamello Brenta, which brings together the most important tourist resorts in western Trentino. I believe that DMOs have the task and responsibility to imagine and design a sustainable future for the territories, working closely with their operators and stakeholders. The global challenges of tourism today and tomorrow must find local answers, in the territories, where tourism happens.
